2008 Ice Cream Olympiad Winners Announced!
Congratulations to the 2008 Olympiad Winners:
Gold: Nickie (two years running!)
Silver: Jenesse
Bronze: Jme
The event was a resounding success, with over 40 contestants vying for points in the Ice Cream Limerick, Headline, Flavor and Speed Scrabble competitions and the Mystery Mix-Up. Bonus points were awarded to our fantastic crepe-makers, Richard and Dave G-S.
The winning Limericks:
There once was a man from Nantucket
Who carried ice cream in a bucket
He fed it to many a clam
And often his friend Sam
Until one day he decided to chuck it.
He threw his ice cream in the ocean
He was sick of all the commotion
He yearned for a chance to lie
and eat some pie
In lieu of pedaling his dairy potion.
- Kate
With a sugar high I'm not alone
trying to hit the right fudge-covered tone
distracted by sprinkles
I'm adding new wrinkles
tyring to win a gold spray-painted cone.
- Reid
Ice Cream, Ice Cream you are sweet!
Ice Cream, Ice Cream what a treat!
Ice Cream, Ice Cream not on my feet!
Ice Cream, Ice Cream you can't be beat.
Ice Cream, Ice Cream, it's you I want to eat!
-Hannah Grace, age 5
